It is our pleasure to introduce to you the OFIS Charitable Trust!
The OFIS Charitable Trust seeks to improve the quality of education that is provided in Ontario¡¯s independent schools by providing financial assistance for the training of teachers and administrators who are employed or plan to be employed in schools that are not publicly funded.
Donor support is needed so the OFIS Charitable Trust can begin its work in?helping independent schools improve, excel, and ultimately receive the recognition and respect due as an important thread in Ontario¡¯s educational tapestry. This is all in keeping with the OFIS Board¡¯s Vision and Mission to provide STANDARD SETTING LEADERSHIP.

The OFIS Trust was established in June 2012 – 83452 3680 RR0001
It exists to:
- Improve the quality of education that is provided in schools, which are not publicly funded, that are registered with the Ontario Ministry of Education in its registry of Private Schools, by providing financial assistance for the training of teachers and administrators who are employed or plan to be employed, in schools in Ontario that are not publicly funded (provided that these objects shall include only those that are, at law, exclusively charitable and without limiting the generality of the foregoing, and to accomplish the aforesaid objects)
- Establish a list of programs and courses offered by educational institutions in Ontario that the Trustees believe will provide the knowledge and skills required to deliver high quality standards of education in schools in Ontario that are not publicly funded.
- Establish scholarship and bursary programs to make funds available to applicants for tuition funding to attend programs and courses approved by the Trustees on the basis of financial need, compatibility with their existing education, and their background in the field of education.
- Appeal for funding to support the scholarship and bursary programs of OFIS (Ontario Federation Of Independent Schools) to individuals, registered charities and other organizations who have an interest in schools that are not publicly funded
